Hunt for Passwords and History

Shell history files

cat ~/.*sh_history                          # current user
cat /home/USER/.*sh_history 2>/dev/null     # a specific user
find /home -type f -iname '.*history'       # locate history files
cat /home/*/.*hist* 2>/dev/null             # every user's history
cat /*/*/.*hist* 2>/dev/null                # everyone's, anywhere

Combine any of these with grep to pull out interesting commands.

Grep for passwords

cd /home/; grep -Ri 'password' . 2>/dev/null
cd /dev/;  grep -Ri 'password' . 2>/dev/null
