Timestomp with touch

Set a file’s modification time — either to match another file, or to an explicit timestamp.

touch FILE                          # set mod time to now
touch -r FILE_A FILE_B              # give FILE_B the same mod time as FILE_A
touch -t YYYYMMDDHHSS FILE          # set mod time to a specific timestamp
